Check Ins
My first blog was created a blog last year to document my first experience abroad. I spent two months in Brighton, England at the University of Sussex. I thought a blog would be the easiest way to keep my friends and family updated without having to send out individual emails. If you want to check out my travel blog it is classychiq.joeuser.com. Because it started off as as travel blog, I felt oddly about putting more personal stuff on there. I was going to create another blog with joeuser...but come on - Google rocks! So here I am...
Welcome!
Come one! Come all!
I'm D and I'm a Fem Sexy. What is a Fem Sexy you may ask....
A Fem Sexy is one of the glorious women (and few select men) who've made it through the most amazing class taught at UC Berkeley: Female Sexuality (or Fem Sex). To clarify, it is not a catalog class, but a DeCal, which is a specific category of courses created by students, for students. These classes are for credit only and can be on anything from community volunteer work to studying The Simpsons (Simpsons and Philosophy was one of the most popular classes ever taught).
Fem Sex used to have the reputation of being a white, femi-nazi lesbian class...but as the class evolves, the are working to address issues of all women of different races and sexual orientations. The class is not about information as much as it is about building a sense of community among women, one little group at a time. It is about fostering safe space to discuss and learn about yourself and other women. It is an amazing class and I felt privileged to take the class and honored to be a facilitator. It is something I will hold with me always and it has become my alter-ego.
Thanks for stopping by... Enjoy!
